I want to first offer my sincere congratulations to Jeff Flake.  I hope Senator Flake will represent Arizona by strongly advancing the case for strictly limited government including individual rights and responsibilities, free markets and fiscal responsibility.  Our country is in dire need of strong leadership in opposition to those who support redistribution of wealth, ever increasing government and endless wars.  I am hopeful Senator Flake will strongly promote the founder’s libertarian principles that helped make America a great nation.  I want to thank everyone who voted for me.  My goal has always been, and continues to be, to win hearts and minds for the cause of human freedom.

I am grateful for the solid support I received in a hard fought and close election.  I remain firmly committed to the cause of freedom, and I am encouraged by the people who voted for me despite the substantial challenges faced by any third party candidate.  Finally, I want to publicly thank all those who helped make my first political campaign a reality.  I entered the race very late with no organizational support whatsoever.  Despite this disadvantage, my campaign hastily pulled together to get the word out about my candidacy and to help promote freedom.  My campaign has never been about me.

All those associated with my campaign, and many people who voted for me, know my campaign was solely about promoting freedom and improving our country.  I hope I have advanced the cause of freedom by my efforts.  If even one more person today supports the cause of freedom than before my campaign, I claim victory.  The fight for human freedom existed long before my campaign, and will continue long after.  I urge all Americans to do whatever possible to assist in that most important and long standing cause of fighting for human freedom; our country depends on it.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

U.S. Senate Candidate Marc J. Victor Stings Representative Flake

Chandler, Arizona, [Oct. 11, 2012]- Libertarian U.S. Senate nominee Marc J. Victor made the most of his obviously curtailed participation in the Senate debate Wednesday night with several critical remarks  directed at the supposed “libertarian” record of Republican Rep. Jeff Flake.

In a statement released today, Mr. Victor said, “I may not have been treated as equally in the debate as my opponents, but that leaves me in very good company. Ron Paul, Gary Johnson and Judge Jim Gray, have all suffered attempts by the statist quo (not a misspelling) to silence them as they fought to bring the message of real limited government and personal freedom to the American people. That aside, when I do get an opportunity, I will highlight the fallacy of Jeff Flake’s libertarian record. Mr. Flake has a terrible record on personal freedom and limited government with votes for the Patriot Act, FISA and NDAA.”  Mr. Victor continued, “I personally can’t understand how he can be a member of the Republican Liberty Caucus, which, according to their website http://www.rlc.org , ‘oppose government excess and demand accountability to the people and the Constitution’, yet he votes for suspension of habeas corpus and against the 4th Amendment of the Constitution.  As I said during the debate, I believe that Barry Goldwater Senior, for whom the Goldwater Institute was named, and where Mr. Flake was previously the Executive Director, must be turning in his grave over votes like these. Mr. Flake is not a Libertarian nor a libertarian.” Mr. Victor continued, “Representative Flake is a hawkish conservative who votes to give the government the power to circumvent due process and the rights and freedoms of citizens’ in direct contradiction to the Constitution.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Senate Candidate Marc J. Victor Criticizes Jeff Flake For Vote To Spy On Americans.

September 18, Chandler, Arizona- In a statement today, Libertarian Senate Candidate Marc J. Victor criticized Representative Jeff Flake, for his yes vote on H.R. 5949 the FISA Amendments Act Reauthorization Act of 2012.

Said Mr. Victor, “The reauthorization of these amendments permits the government to spy on countless Americans, without a warrant, until 2017. FISA authorizes the warrantless search and surveillance of emails, internet activity, and phone communications of millions of Americans without any judicial oversight. The potential for abuse is staggering. We have come a long way from what the founders of our nation likely envisioned with the inclusion of the 4th Amendment to our Federal Constitution.” Victor continued, “Institutions like CATO have demonstrated that the language is vague, open to wide interpretation and wide scale abuse. The government has admitted that abuse has already occurred.”

Mr. Victor goes on to say, “With this vote, one must ask, if Jeff Flake has such little regard for privacy and rights of Americans, what other police state-type measures would he also support? Senate Candidate Jeff Flake has assisted in directing our country on an Orwellian path of domestic surveillance with obvious disregard for the Bill of Rights and the civil liberties of Americans. Arizonans have long had an independent streak, cherished liberty and resisted the growth of big government. With this latest vote for warrantless surveillance, Senate Candidate Jeff Flake has demonstrated an inability or unwillingness to protect freedom and help return our nation to the principles that made us a great nation. ”
